New Camera Lens – Tamron Rules
Posted: July 20th, 2006 | Author: Greg Gigon | Filed under: photo | 1 Comment »I just got new Tamron Lens to my Canon. It’s really cool. I was running around and taking some pictures.
The lens I bought it’s special line of Tamrons lens. I know it’s not Canon but still results are not so bad.
It’s 55-200 mm LD DI II telephoto Macro lens. It’s special design for Digital SLR only makes this lens work like traditional 85-300 mm one. Because SLR CMOS sensor is much smaller then traditional film frame Tamron made this trick possible, and it’s coming at you straight when you start shootking pictures.

Anyway, checkout my test drive …
All pictures are taken and present wothout any Photoshop manipulation. They were just size changed cause are to big to place on web (3456×2304px).
First image is macro of our orhids.
That’s picture of myself, taken by my Wife.
These are dried roses. It show how nicelly colors are picked and details of wall texture.
This picture show real power of this lens. Exalen details and sharpnes.
Depth of field play. Low apperature.
Silhouettes of a tree and sunset.
Details of a grass.
Another macro with great colors contrast.
This one was flashed by Canon EOS350D build in flash. It was getting dark outside and to keep camera still in hand for longer time exposures it was VERY HARD.
At home. Dark room, little light from computer screen. Black and Wite camera filter. I was very suprised I didn’t shake my hand (no stand use).
Last one is picture of my wife, taken from stand with slightly longer exposure time.
As you can see, this Tamron lens is really good. Only bad things about it is that AF is slow and noisy. But for that budget lens and for this results there’s nothing to be ashamed off
Stay tooned, Gregowich
